***FALSE NEWS*** - JEAN MICHEL JARRE TO PERFORM IN IRAN THIS SUMMER

The Tehran Times Newspaper website published an article earlier today (http://www.tehrantimes.com/arts-and-culture/117401-art-news-in-brief), claiming that Jean Michel Jarre had been invited to perform at the Kish Summer Festival, on Kish Island, Iran this Summer, according to a press conference held in Tehran, Iran today by Piruz Arjmand, the Director of the Music Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

The article further claimed that Jean Michel Jarre was to reprise the music his father Maurice Jarre composed for "The Message", an oscar nominated 1977 movie about the birth of Islam, directed by Moustapha Akkad, starring Anthony Quinn and Irene Papas.

Jean Michel Jarre's Management have just confirmed to JARRE UK this evening that this is "absolutely not happening".

JEAN MICHEL JARRE: NEW SONY RE-MASTERED ALBUM RELEASES

After half a decade of going it alone without being signed to a major record label, Jean Michel Jarre signed a new contract with Sony Music last year, ahead of his proposed new studio album release, which is currently pencilled in for an early 2015 release.

This will be his first new studio album release since 2007's 'TEO & TEA' on the Warner Music France label (not counting the re-release of  'OXYGENE' on the EMI label later that same year).

The new contract with Sony Music allows for the re-mastering and re-releasing of Jean Michel Jarre's entire back catalogue, and the first of these re-mastered releases should be available from April 25th 2014 in both digital and physical formats.

Jean Michel Jarre's Management have confirmed to JARRE UK, that the re-mastered releases are expected to be released over the coming months, and although some will have updated artwork, there will be no changes to the tracklisting from the original album releases, and no bonus tracks added.

The first wave of remastered releases appears to include 'OXYGENE', 'EQUINOXE', 'MAGNETIC FIELDS', 'THE CONCERTS IN CHINA', 'CITIES IN CONCERT: HOUSTON / LYON' and 'DESTINATION DOCKLANDS' at the time of writing.

Jean Michel Jarre's Management have also confirmed to JARRE UK that there are no current plans for any of Jean Michel Jarre's previously released videos and DVDs to be re-released on Blu-Ray, and this includes any previously unreleased footage.  There are also no current plans for any major concerts to take place this year.

DESIGN A NEW LOGO CHALLENGE

JARRE UK has gone through at least 4 redesigns in its 14 year history, but the one thing that has never had a refresh is our logo.

Originally designed by Robin Hosgood, the current logo has served us well, but with a change of focus for the website, I am looking for a new logo that reflects the JARRE UK brand, that is vibrant and fresh but still maintains its UK identity, hence the original flag in the UK part of the current logo.

Therefore I am throwing it open to you, and would welcome any designs or ideas that you might have to help us achieve this goal.

As some of you are already aware, the JARRE UK website was hacked just before Christmas 2013, resulting in a large amount of phishing code being embedded into the website in numerous places that was difficult to locate and remove.

After several threats from security firms acting on behalf of global banks, I had no choice but to close the website down and look for a viable method of getting the website up-and-running again.

I had toyed with the idea of just running JARRE UK through Facebook, but some fans expressed the need for a web presence, to have something other than a Facebook page, sighting that not everyone uses or likes Facebook.

As a result of this, I am trialling Blogger as a new home, although I am not sure that this will do exactly what I want, but it's a start whilst I find a way of rebuilding the website and finding a cost effective and easy way to deliver and run it.

Ideas and suggestions are always welcomed, but please be patient, as the time I have to spend on this project is very limited due to other commitments.

I will endeavour to do my best.
